What to Expect on Delivery Day
Your building arrives fully assembled. Here’s how delivery day goes from start to finish.

Scheduling Call
Our delivery team calls you 24–48 hours in advance to confirm the date, time window, and placement location.

Truck Arrives
Your shed arrives on a specialized trailer. The driver will assess the access path and confirm the final placement spot with you.

Placement & Leveling
The building is set in place and leveled on blocks. The whole process typically takes under an hour.

Walkthrough
We walk you through doors, windows, locking hardware, and warranty details. You’re ready to use it that same day.
Prepare Your Site
A little prep goes a long way. Make sure your property is ready so delivery goes smoothly.
Level Ground
The placement area should be reasonably level. We can compensate for minor slopes with blocking, but steep grades may require grading first.
Clear Access Path
We need at least 14 feet of width for the delivery truck and trailer. Remove vehicles, trash cans, or low-hanging branches from the path.
No Overhead Wires
Check for power lines, cable wires, or tree limbs along the delivery route and above the placement spot. Minimum 14 feet of vertical clearance.
Mark the Spot
Use stakes or spray paint to mark exactly where you want the building placed. Check your local setback requirements and HOA rules beforehand.

How far do you deliver?
We deliver within approximately 150 miles of our production facility in Mount Airy, NC. This covers most of North Carolina, southwest Virginia, southern West Virginia, northeast Tennessee, and upstate South Carolina. Delivery within 50 miles is free; beyond that, a mileage fee applies.
How much does delivery cost?
Local delivery within 50 miles of Mount Airy is free. For deliveries beyond 50 miles, a per-mile fee applies. We’ll provide the exact delivery cost when you request a quote so there are no surprises.
How long from order to delivery?
Most custom builds take 2–4 weeks from order to delivery, depending on the size and options you choose. In-stock buildings can often be delivered within 1–2 weeks. We’ll give you a timeline estimate at the time of purchase.
Will my shed fit through my gate or backyard?
We need a minimum of 14 feet of width and 14 feet of vertical clearance along the delivery path. If you’re unsure, send us photos or measurements of your access route and we’ll let you know before you order.
Can you deliver to an HOA community?
Yes! Many of our customers live in HOA neighborhoods. We recommend checking your HOA guidelines for size limits, placement rules, and approved materials before ordering. Our Champion and Sentinel Series are popular HOA-friendly options.
Do I need a permit for my shed?
Permit requirements vary by county and city. In many areas, sheds under 200 square feet don’t require a permit, but we always recommend checking with your local building department. We can provide spec sheets and drawings to help with the permit process.
What if my yard has a slope?
Minor slopes are no problem — we level your building on concrete blocks at no extra charge. For steeper grades, we may recommend site grading before delivery. Send us a photo and we’ll advise on the best approach.
What is LP SmartSide and why do you use it?
LP SmartSide is an engineered wood siding product that outperforms traditional plywood, OSB, and vinyl in durability and weather resistance. It is treated with SmartGuard technology — a zinc borate compound that provides built-in protection against termites, rot, and fungal decay. It comes with a 50-year substrate warranty from the manufacturer.
How are your sheds different from big-box store kits?
Big-box kits use thin panels, lightweight framing, and require you to assemble them yourself. Our buildings are stick-built by experienced craftsmen at our Mount Airy facility using 2×4 wall framing, 16″ on-center floor joists, LP SmartSide siding, and quality shingle roofing. They arrive fully assembled — ready to use the day of delivery.
Can I add electricity to my shed?
Yes. We offer an optional electrical package that includes outlets, switches, and interior lighting — installed during the build so wiring is clean and code-ready. Alternatively, our wall framing is designed for easy post-delivery wiring by a local electrician. Either way, the building is ready for power.
What warranty do your buildings come with?
Every Guardian building comes with a comprehensive warranty covering structural components, siding, and roofing materials. LP SmartSide siding carries a 50-year substrate warranty from the manufacturer. We stand behind our workmanship and will address any issues that arise after delivery.
Can I insulate and finish the interior?
Absolutely. Our 2×4 wall framing creates standard stud cavities that accept batt or spray foam insulation. Many customers finish the interior with drywall and add a mini-split for year-round climate control — turning their shed into a true living space, office, or conditioned workshop.
What is the difference between your four series?
All four series share the same structural foundation — LP SmartSide siding, 2×4 framing, and quality roofing. The difference is in the finish level. The Guardian Series is our value line.
